Sugar Cookies
- ½ Cup or 1 Stick Softened Butter
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 ½ Cups Lion Brand Whole Wheat Self-Rising Flour
- 1 tbsp Milk
- 2 Cups Icing Sugar
- 1 tbsp Light Corn Syrup
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Food Colouring

Method
- For Icing:
1. Preheat oven 350°F
2. Cream together the butter and sugar with an electric mixer
3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla
4. Add in the self-rising flour a little at a time and stir until a very soft dough forms
5. On a floured surface, roll the dough out to ¼ inch in thickness.
6. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters
7. Place cookies at least 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets
8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes
1. Stir together icing sugar and milk until smooth
2. Beat in corn syrup and vanilla extract until the icing is smooth and glossy
3. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup
4. Divide into separate bowls, and add food colouring to each to desired intensity. Dip cookies, or paint them with a brush
